AFC Wimbledon hope to extend the loan of Callum McNaughton into a third, and final, month.

The 20-year-old has started 11 games on the spin for AFC although assistant manager Stuart Cash, as he told Your Local Guardian, knows that it is down to West Ham – who have a few defensive problems: ‘we need to get on the phone to West Ham.

‘If we could extend his loan we would like to but it is up to West Ham and they lost a couple of centre-backs.’

Whatever happens McNaughton’s time with The Wombles will soon be coming to an end, although the defender returning for another loan spell in the New Year would be possible.
