Kwesi Appiah has been backed to have an impact at AFC Wimbledon to help get the club to ‘where they want to go’ during his loan spell.

Neal Ardley borrowed the striker from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day with him coming in for his Wimbledon defeat against Mansfield Town at the weekend, a game that was lost.

Ardley was impressed by his impact and once he’s back to full fitness, as he’s currently getting over ‘a niggle’, the 23-year-old has been backed to get even better and see his impact get more noticeable.

The Dons boss was quoted by sky sports as saying: ‘Kwesi looked a threat at times.

‘He needs a bit of match sharpness because he had a couple of weeks at Palace out with a niggle.

‘Kwesi is coming back from that and hopefully he will get better with games and help take us where we want to go.’
