Manager Neal Ardley has today added Crystal Palace striker Kwesi Appiah to the team until the end of the season.

Palace signed the 23 year old two years ago after a very prolific record at Margate, and for them so far he has made one start in the League Cup, with a further nine appearances across all competitions.

Since joining them he has also had spells with Aldershot, Yeovil, Cambridge United and Notts County, and it was specifically his spell at Cambridge that apparently brought him to our attention because in 17 appearances he found the net ten times.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer said of the capture.

‘Kwesi has been on our radar all season. He scored ten goals at Cambridge earlier this season and he played recently for Notts County. We had been looking to try and strengthen in this area because we are without players up front at the moment.’

Ardley goes on to say that Charlie Wyke is soon to head back, Charlie Sheringham is out on loan, Jack Midson is now suspended and off course Danny Hylton has recently picked up an illness.

‘When we realised Kwesi was back at Palace and available we worked hard to bring him in. He’s quick, direct and a good finisher. He offers something different from what we’ve got up front at the current time.’
