Experienced midfielder Dannie Bulman said he revelled denying his old club last weekend and he’s still relishing the midfield hussle and bustle despite his advanced years.

Speaking to the Official Site following the scoreless draw on Saturday, the 35 year old summer signing said that manager Neal Ardley had been constantly demanding more from the squad and he felt everybody more tha answered that call in the game.

‘I love training and being around the place. The manager has put more onus on driving the squad forward and he’s not been letting us rest of our laurels. Hard work gets results in this league. If I had been offered four points and a passage through to the next round of the FA Cup before the last three games then I would’ve snatched their hand off. I like to do battle with a smile on my face and it was nice coming back here. I know a few of their players from a long time ago and Oxford have picked up their results recently.’

Bulman goes on to say that he fully expects to see Oxford continue to climb the table as the season draws on now so getting the clean sheet against them should give everybody good confidence moving forward and of course it builds on our showings of late for him.

He went on to admit that with Sean Rigg missing through suspension he felt it took us 15-20 minutes to adjust to the 433 formation we had, but once we got the cobwebs worked out he felt we adapted quite well to it and having somewhat weathered the storm with their bright start he felt a draw was the right result in the end given the balance of play.
