Wimbledon are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Darius Charles in the one nil victory over Leyton Orient at the weekend at Kingsmeadow was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Charles was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Charles was a rock at the heart of the Wimbledon defence as they edged one step closer to a maiden appearance in the Sky Bet League 2 Play-Offs. Lyle Taylor’s early goal put the Dons on their way, before Charles and co. produced a stellar display to repel the best efforts of Leyton Orient.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Charles for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joel Coleman (Oldham Athletic), Darius Charles (Wimbledon), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Marc Roberts (Barnsley), Michael Jacobs (Wigan Athletic), Michael O’Connor (Port Vale), Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest), Dean Parrett (Stevenage), Chris Taylor (Millwall), James Hanson (Bradford City), Lucas Akins (Burton Albion).

Manager – John Still (Dagenham and Redbridge).
