Former Dagenham defender Gareth Gwillim has finally put pen to paper on a one year to bring him to Kingsmeadow on a permanent basis.

The 28 year old has been in protracted negotiations with the Dons over a deal after cancelling his contract with Dagenham by mutual consent.

Gwillin told the Surrey Herald: “All of the paperwork and everything has been sent over to the FA so it is just a matter of the registration being cancelled and everything getting switched over to here.’

He added: “After being a part of what happened last season, I really wanted to be a part of the first season in the league. I have signed a deal and we are literally just waiting for it all to go through so we can announce it.”

With first team opportunities limited at the Daggers Gwillin was keen to make the move to play football saying: “They said I could`ve stayed so they didn`t want me to go but they understand that I want to play football.”

Welcome back on board Gareth!
