Wimbledon have dipped into the transfer market again today to confirm the signing of experienced defender Jack Smith.

Smith, known to both Neal Ardley and Neil Cox from their time with Watford when Smith came through the youth set-up at Vicarage Road, has been brought in after much searching and much consideration as to who the best left back option was.

Until this summer Smith had been a Millwall player but he was released after five-years with them.

Now a Dons player Smith is eager to get involved, telling the official website: ‘I met with Neal Ardley last week and he sold the club to me by providing a vision of what he wants to do next season.

‘I’m pleased to be a part of it.

‘I’ve missed a week of pre-season training so it was a relief to sign and I can’t wait to play some games hopefully.’

The Dons’ squad for the 2014/15 season, with the signing of Smith, is now almost complete you would think but are you happy with his arrival?
