Wimbledon picked up their first win of pre-season on Tuesday when an academy product came up trumps with a late winner against Sutton United in a 2-1 win.

Neal Ardley, looking to build on the impressive showing against Chelsea even in defeat in the end, took the opportunity to look at a good number of his squad again with plenty of chances coming the Dons’ way before Adebayo Azeez opened the scoring.

The scoreline should have been more come the half time break but as it was Sutton grabbed an equaliser through Kane Haysman to ensure it was one-one.

With a draw looking likely as time ticked away Chace Jacquart was on hand to follow up to put us two-one up with eight-minutes to play, and despite a Sutton scare when they smacked the bar we did enough to see out the win, for what they’re worth in pre-season of course!

AFC Wimbledon: Ross Worner (Joe McDonnell), Barry Fuller (Andy Frampton), Jack Smith (Chace Jacquart), Will Nightingale, Callum Kennedy (Sean Rigg), Harry Pell (Dannie Bulman) Chris Arthur, Tom Beere (Sammy Moore), Adebayo Akinfenwa (Matt Tubbs), Adebayo Azeez (George Oakley, Kevin Sainte-Luce (George Francomb).
