Wimbledon are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jake Reeves in the three one victory over Oxford United at the weekend at the Kassam Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Reeves was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Plenty of Dons players starred in the 3-1 win at Oxford, but Reeves gets the nod for an all-action midfield display at the Kassam Stadium. The 23-year-old’s magic created the opening for Andy Barcham to grab the third goal, and he impressed in a defensive capacity too as the U’s pressed for a way back late on.’

Given the overall performance of the side, manager Neal Ardley was also picked as manager of the Team of the Week this time round.

‘AFC Wimbledon continued their climb up the Sky Bet League One table with a 3-1 win over Oxford United in front of the Sky Sports cameras. A superb first-half showing put the Dons three goals to the good, and helped them defeat the U’s after failing in their previous 12 attempts. The victory was also the perfect way to celebrate the four-year anniversary of Ardley’s managerial reign.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to both for their recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
