AFC Wimbledon and Exeter met at St James Park on Saturday afternoon with both still unbeaten; so both knew this was going to be a good early season test.

It was Exeter that had maintained their unbeaten league two record though by close of play following a 2-0 win…

John O’Flynn (11) didn’t take long to break the deadlock, firing home a knock on from the edge of the area that was slightly aided by a deflection.

One really should have been two when O’Flynn found himself in again!

A poor back pass was pounced upon by the Irishman but despite rounding Ross Worner he didn’t make a good connection and the chance past the hosts by.

He made no mistake some 10-minutes before the break through when O’Flynn (36) did make it two-nil. A fine, and swift, counter-attack move was finished by the Exeter striker.

Wimbledon’s best second half opening fell to Andy Frampton, however he saw his header cleared off the line.

Had that gone in it could have started a comeback but it wasn’t to be…
