The move for Grimsby striker Alan Connell looks like it is dead in the water as Grimsby refuse to budge on their asking price for the former Brentford and Bournemouth frontman.

Don’s manager Terry Brown had been keen to bring the 28 year old to Kingsmeadow but it won’t be at any price telling the Surrey Herald: ‘He’s a proven goalscorer in the Conference and at pro level as well, but they have priced him out of the market to be honest.’

He commented that striking options were still available adding: ‘We’ve got Charles Ademeno, Jack Midson and Christian Jolley, so we’re not desperate to go out and get a striker.’

Laters rumours suggest that Connell could be in for a move to Luton Town with Stevenage also reported to be sniffing around. What’s certain is he won’t be playing for the Don’s this season!
