The League Cup is the League Cup to me whatever its guise, its now under the Capital One Cup. Either way it kicks into life tonight for both AFC Wimbledon and Millwall.

Millwall’s Lee Martin is training again, but might not fit enough to feature with David Forde (knee) a probable absentee, but he would be the only casualty from the weekend.

Wimbledon will make changes, this could see strikers Charlie Sheringham and Jack Midson start but Will Antwi (hernia) is still out.

Millwall will be the favourites given that they’re a Championship side and Wimbledon a League Two outfit.

That fact and the one that they’ve won seven of their last eight League Cup ties against lower league opponents, losing to Crawley on penalties last season. Wimbledon on the other hand have yet to win a League Cup game, they’ve lost the two they’ve played!

Cup-ties are what upsets are all about but the only previous meeting between the sides resulted in the Lions seeing off the Dons 4-1 in the FA Cup in 2009.
