There’s been mixed injury news for AFC Wimbledon announced today involving Charlie Strutton, Aaron Morris, Callum Kennedy and Rhys Weston.

Stuart Douglas delivered an update on the walking wounded on the official website today with it something of a mixed bag, Strutton was always going to realistically miss the remainder of the season due to his doubled leg break but he is progressing well.

Douglas said: ‘Charlie is progressing very well since the removal of the pins that were inserted into his tibia and fibula. Charlie will miss the rest of the season, but I’m optimistic that he`ll be fit for pre-season.’

Morris suffered a ‘slight’ thigh strain against Chesterfield, which meant he missed the dramatic weekend draw with Burton Albion at the weekend and ‘could be in contention soon.’

The news isn’t so good on Kennedy though as he has suffered a setback in his attempt to recover from an ankle tendon injury, with him saying: ‘Callum has seen a specialist, and ultrasound scans show that the fluid-filled sheath that surrounds the tendon is inflamed.

‘This condition can be very difficult to treat, and I cannot yet estimate when he will return to fitness.’

I have never even heard of a ‘ruptured patella tendon’, but this is what Weston suffered during his loan with Sutton United. It’s in the knee it appears as he has had the staples removed from his knee with a knee brace now being worn, but he too will miss the rest of the season.
