AFC Wimbledon have been dealt another blow, shortly after losing Darren Jones to Newport County, with the news that Aaron Morris has moved on too.

Jones decided to leave Wimbledon to sign for league two rivals Newport, a decision that was based on family reasons, but the loss of Morris may be particularly gutting to Neal Ardley who had given him a chance last season after a long-term injury.

The 24-year-old former Welsh U21 international signed a short-term contract with the Dons in January with Ardley keen to secure him on a loan-term contract and offered him a fresh deal but he has rejected this in favour of a move to Gillingham.

Morris has signed a two-year deal with the league one side.
