Jack Midson remains at the centre of most things AFC Wimbledon at the moment.

An offer came in for the striker from Rotherham recently, which was rejected with Wimbledon’s league two rivals eventually admitting defeat. Bristol Rovers have been credited with an interested in the 20-goal man although, as he told The Hounslow Chronicle, Terry Brown believes a new contract will be agreed.

The 28-year-old was understood to have stalled on contract talks but Brown thinks that a ‘settlement’ is close: ‘we’re a lot nearer a settlement with Jack now than we were a couple of weeks ago.

‘From Jack’s point of view it’s understandable, he’s had a fantastic year. We want to sign a new contract with him and I don’t think we’re a million miles away from tying that up.’
