Not Taking Too Many Positives

A point was collected by AFC Wimbledon against Burton at the weekend, a third win in a row for The Dons.

Neil Ardley isn’t taking many positives from the draw though as he knows victories are needed: ‘We’ve got to stop dropping points – we can’t afford to.

‘I’m not taking too many positives. I know there is some and we’re still unbeaten but I set my standards high and I think that’s two points dropped.’

A couple of wins on the spin have now been followed by three draws in a row with the Wimbledon boss bemoaning these dropped points as they battle relegation: ‘I think at Port Vale recently it was a point gained but I still felt if we had got it right that that was two dropped and the Wycombe game is certainly two dropped.

‘So that’s six dropped points in the last three games. I set my standards high and say that it’s not good enough but at the same time we’re five unbeaten so let’s make it continue.’

That point could well prove to be a valuable one, however it would have been seen more as a point won (as with other games) and not two lost had The Dons been behind and come back to get it and not been ahead and lost them.
