Wimbledon have confirmed that winger Chris Arthur has moved to Woking on a one month loan deal, and Charlie Nightingale has now made his return to the U21 pitch.

Starting with 24 year old Arthur who made 25 appearances for us last season, manager Neal Ardley explained that he was being loaned out to the Conference National side because he needs to get games under his belt, but having fallen out of the squad at the minute the best way for him to get his form and confidence back is a short spell away from us.

‘Chris wants to play games and at the moment he’s fallen out of the squad. I want all the players in the squad to embrace the work ethic and demands that we place on them. Chris needs to go out and get some game time so that he can get his match sharpness where it needs to be. Hopefully, he can then come back and be a real asset for us.’

As for 19 year old Nightingale, he’s recovering from from the thigh injury that he picked up during pre season against Sutton United and did get 75 minutes under his belt in our recent U21 3-1 loss against Watford.

The game was a friendly and arranged following the cancellation of the U21 trip to America, but it was a good opportunity to get minutes under the belts of certain players and U21 coach Alan Reeves said that he felt Nightingale had done well for his first game in a month, but he was rusty and tired when he was substituted but that’s par for the course of building up his fitness again.
