George Porter’s loan with AFC Wimbledon has come to an end and he’s gone back to his parent club.

It’ll not, in many ways, be a surprise as it’s been on the cards for a while.

January, as per the terms of his loan from Burnley, was a point where his loan would be reviewed with it decided it’s best for all that the winger return to the championship side ahead of schedule.

Neal Ardley explained the situation, the Dons boss said: ‘There was a review period in January and George’s form had dipped a bit before Christmas.

‘George was therefore left out of the squad when we decided to change our shape slightly.

‘George was unhappy about not getting game-time and Burnley were looking to see if things were happening the way they wanted them to.

‘Both clubs therefore decided it would be best for George to go back to Burnley so that they can review his situation.’
