AFC Wimbledon’s pursuit of Erhun Oztumer ended, as expected really, in failure earlier this week.

The Dulwich Hamlet midfielder, who scored an incredible 33-goals in 49-games last season, was a player that Neal Ardley had been looking at since earlier in the year but with a transfer fee always required the likelihood of Wimbledon securing the 23-year-old were always slim.

As it happens, in the end, all the sides at league 2 level showing an interest were beaten to his services by league 1 outfit Peterborough United who signed Oztumer on Tuesday with him joining them on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
