Rotherham’s interest in Jack Midson has ended.

The striker, who scored 20-goals for AFC Wimbledon this season, had been the subject of a six-figure approach from Rotherham but this was rejected.

Following further talks it has been decided by Rotherham manager Steve Evans (and his chairman), as he told the official Rotherham website, to end their interest: ‘Jack is a good striker and he’s always been a thorn in our sides when he’s played against us.

‘I spoke to Terry Brown, who spoke to his chairman, and as he always does with me whether it’s Crawley or Rotherham, he refuses our offer!

‘Terry came back to me and said that they wanted a certain figure and to be fair I think the deal is now dead.

‘The figure they have indicated they would be willing to sell Midson for is beyond where I would value him.’
