AFC Wimbledon have dipped into the transfer market again to bring in Jason Prior.

The striker, who had an impressive strike rate, has signed for Wimbledon after terms were agreed with Bognor Regis.

Terry Brown, as he told the official website, had this to say of his new signing: ‘having watched Jason on four different occasions when he scored in every game, I can assure you we have brought a prolific goalscorer into the club. Any doubts about the difference in levels were dispelled when I travelled up to Newcastle to see Jason and Billy Knott, an excursion I came back from determined to sign two very talented players. I am pleased to say we have now secured the second one of our targets.

‘Jason is very powerful in the air, a good hold up player and the most important box he ticked was his ability to take chances in and around the box as his record of nearly 100 goals in about 120 games shows.

‘I am really pleased that he chose us ahead of other Football League clubs and barring injury he will go straight into the squad on Saturday.’

Prior has signed a two-½-year contract with the club.
