Sunday saw Wimbledon host Peterborough United at Kingsmeadow for a four goal thriller.

A first League One goal from Cody McDonald tied the scores up on the day at the end of an entertaining first half where fans were treated to four goals. The second half of the game failed to live up to the first 45.

The point taken on the day wasn’t enough to lift Wimbledon out of the drop zone, but having been the lowest scorers so far this season in the third tier, Wimbledon are now into double figures following the 18th clash of the campaign.

It took the hosts only 36 seconds to take the lead as Lyle Taylor struck from outside the penalty box, but Peterborough reacted to that blow and were back on level terms in the 26th minute through Danny Lloyd-McGoldrick.

The visitors then took advantage themselves 12 minutes later as Marcus Maddison took advantage from the penalty spot after he’d been fouled by Tom Soares.

A long ball from Deji Oshilaja caught the Peterborough defence out and McDonald took full advantage to level the scores before the end of the first half.

Peterborough did have chances in the second period, but they found Wimbledon’s stopper George Long in fine form as he stopped efforts from Jack Marriott and Maddison to preserve the point.
