Wimbledon are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Chris Robertson in the four nil victory over Port Vale at the weekend at Kingsmeadow was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Robertson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A sensational second-half showing from AFC Wimbledon saw them blitz Port Vale 4-0 at Kingsmeadow. Robertson had helped keep the Valiants out in the first half, but then got himself in on the act at the other end with his first goal for the club.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Robertson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Stuart Nelson (Gillingham), Chris Robertson (Wimbledon), Liam Moore (Reading), Kyle Bartley (Leeds United), Tommy Smith (Huddersfield Town), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Matty Lund (Rochdale), Ryan Kent (Barnsley), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Chris Maguire (Oxford United).

Manager – Danny Wilson (Chesterfield).
