AFC WIMBLEDON penalty king Jon Main says the Dons fear no one after moving up to third in the Blue Square Premier. “We`re not afraid of anyone. We`re growing in confidence all the time and we`re starting to realise that we can compete and be successful in this division.”

KINGSTONIAN INTERESTED IN RAPSON LOAN

KINGSTONIAN ARE INTERESTED in taking AFC Wimbledon youngster Peter Rapson on loan. Rapson is well down the pecking order at Kingsmeadow, behind Danny Kedwell, Jon Main, Luke Moore and Ross Montague. Terry Brown said: ‘Peter’s a good player, but he’s only young, and was always one for the future. We’re going to send him on loan, and the Ryman Premier would be a good level.’

BIG CROWD AT GRAYS FOR DONS THRILLER

GRAYS FANS SAW a six goal thriller as their team went down 4-2 to high-flying AFC Wimbledon. In bright bank holiday sunshine, Grays came out fighting from the start with flowing football in front of a bumper crowd (1,762). After the game Grays boss Gary Phillips said: “We looked very bright and are encouraged by the effort of our players. We cannot complain about Cammy Mawer`s red card but that really did it for us.’

THE BLUE SQUARE Premier league game against Wrexham, which was due to be played on 8th September, will now take place on Tuesday 10th November 2009, kick off at 7.45pm. Ticket arrangements will be announced in due course.

MONTAGUE SIGNING DELIGHTS DONS BOSS

TERRY BROWN, MANAGER of Blue Square Premier new boys AFC Wimbledon, has completed the signing of 20-year-old Ross Montague, who came through the Brentford youth ranks, made his debut against Nottingham Forest in April 2007 and has subsequently spent loan periods at Sutton United, Welling United and Basingstoke Town. Brown said: “I am absolutely delighted to announce the arrival of Ross Montague to complete our squad of twenty-two players which now gives us cover in every position. Ross is a player we have tracked over the last couple of years. He is a tall strong aggressive front runner with two good feet and an eye for goal.”
