Barry Fuller filled in as AFC Wimbledon’s captain in the draw with Fleetwood Town at the weekend, in what saw another good point earned in the road.

This point at Highbury Stadium came off the back of the back of a win at Newport Town before this that means Wimbledon had collected four-points from two ‘tough games’ but he’s now called upon his teammates to show more of the same this weekend against York City.

Fuller told Dons Player: ‘We have to dig in and get ready to go again for York City next Saturday.

‘We have come through two fixtures that beforehand you would look at and say ‘they are going to be tough games’. We showed great character to come from behind and get three points at Newport.

‘After another long journey to Fleetwood we’ve produced another great team performance to earn a clean sheet and a point. We had a few chances and on another day they could have gone in, but a draw was a fair result overall.’

Some ‘strength in depth’ is helping the squad with Fuller going on to praise the debut of Tom Richards and the impact that Michael Collins has had since his arrival and the competition arrivals has given the squad.
