The Dons finally get their man at the third attempt; they tried when he was at stains and again last season on loan but failed both times.

Erik Samuelson Dons chief Executive said: ‘We are delighted to have signed Mark. He is a proven goal scorer, with pace and strength, and he will bring great competition to the front line for the coming season.’
‘I remember speaking to Mark at the Ryman League end of season dinner in our promotion season. He was presented with the golden boot award and I told him we would be watching out for him to try to bring him to Kingsmeadow. Although it has taken a little longer than we hoped, we`re delighted to see him here.’

Mark Nwokeji added “I`ve flirted with this club for a number of years now and now it is great to be here. I`m looking forward to showing the fans my commitment, my ability and some goals.’

Before becoming a footballer, Mark was the 200 metres All-England Schoolboy champion and so should add pace up front for the Wombles.

His former clubs were Walton & Hersham, Harlow Town, Leatherhead, Chesham United Ware, St Albans City and Staines Town.
A part timer at Stains, Mark was studying as a law student.

In May 2008 he signed for League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge from Stains Town.
He made 20 appearances for the Daggers, scoring five times before a serious knee ligament injury in January 2009 kept him out of action for nine months.

Mark then went to Conference side Luton Town on 12 November 2009 on a two month loan to get match fit.
His loan period was then extended to the end of the season after impressing the Luton Boss.

So Nwokeji starts next season boosting the Dons attacking pair of Main and Kedwell who scored for fun in the Conference Premier last season.
