Wimbledon lie fourth in the Blue Square Premier table after three consecutive victories (over kettering, Salisbury and Altrincham), which followed defeat at Eastbourne, and an opening day draw against Luton in front of nearly 4,500 fans.

Saturday’s match against unbeaten table-toppers Oxford – who’ve also won their last three – could well draw the highest crowd of the season so far, and the Dons defence needs to be extra careful against a side scoring 12 goals in their last three games.

While Oxford are many bookies favourites to win the Blue Square Premier title this season, and promotion back to the Football League, they can’t seem to make up their minds about Saturday’s game with opinion almost equally divided on a home win vs an away win.

Dons fans will be hoping for a repeat of their last competitive fixture at Kingsmeadow, which ended Wimbledon 4 Salisbury 0.
