Another new signing for the Dons is twenty four year old Lee Minshull, who was a former Charlton Athletic Trainee.
A late developer he was rescued from obscurity a few seasons ago by Ramsgate.
The Dons Boss made Lee his second signing of the season, hoping he will help solve his goal scoring problem from midfield.
He scored seventeen goals in forty games for Ramsgate last season in the Ryman Premier League and finished their second top scorer.
Terry Brown said “Lee is a powerful, tough tackling player who will add much-needed bite to our midfield as well as a good number of goals,”
“This was area in which we were weak last year and Lee will also contribute mental and physical strength. ” Added the Dons Boss.
Talented 24 year old Lee`s Career as a quantity surveyor has been put on hold, while he pursues his dream to be a full time pro with AFC Wimbledon.
Lee said “I`ve just finished a master`s degree at Greenwich University. I was spending a day a week studying”
“I`m not saying it would definitely been my last chance in full-time football, but I wouldn`t want to look back when my career has finished and think what might have been.”
He added “I have always been known as a 100 per cent man and I know that is something Terry likes.”
“I am very strong in the air and I like putting myself about and everyone tells me that this is something Wimbledon have missed over the last couple of years.”
“I like to get forward and I score a few goals”.
“I know things are going to be a lot more difficult at that level but I will be doing my best that form into the Blue Square Premier.”
So come on Lee let`s see if you can live up to your words and score goals from midfield while giving the Wombles some bite in the middle of the park.
